Police FC’s Creative Man Kahata Determined to Secure Win Against AFC Leopards

Despite facing a race against time for the return fixture against debutants Kenya Police FC in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League, star midfielder Francis Kahata is eyeing maximum points when the two sides face off at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The 30-year-old creative man sustained a hamstring injury when they battled Leopards in the reverse fixture two weeks ago but has resumed training as he eyes to be part of the squad.

“I’m recovering well from the injury I suffered in our previous match against AFC, but I’ve been training with the rest of the team and hope to be fully fit for Sunday’s game and contribute to the team’s victory,” Kahata said.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw after AFC Leopards leveled from the spot late on in what was the second game for head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo, and the former Gor Mahia man says the law enforcers are a better side since the managerial change that witnessed Bobby Ogolla shown the exit door.

“He is one of the best coaches in the country, and his addition to our team is a significant benefit,” Kahata added.

Pamzo together with his assistant and former Harambee Stars captain are yet to taste defeat as they won their opening game 2-0 against Gor Mahia at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

The Police and Leopards both have 28 points and are ranked tenth and eleventh, with the Leopards having a game in hand.

It is however to close a call to make as both sides are determined to bounce back from the draw.
