Legendary Harambee Stars Duo Take Over From Bobby Ogolla at Police FC

Former Kenya internationals Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo and Musa Otieno have hit the ground running as the new Kenya Police FC tacticians following the sacking of head coach John ‘Bobby’ Ogolla.

Bobby Ogolla was axed on Wednesday by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League debutants after a 1-1 draw with KCB at the Kasarani Annex on Tuesday afternoon.

The draw left Police FC winless in their last seven games despite having a busy January transfer window, their last win coming on January 15, 2-1 against relegation candidates Mathare United.

Bobby was sacked alongside technical director Lukas Tott, the dup leaving the law enforcers 13th on the FKF Premier League log with 24 points from 21 matches.

“The owners of the team have made a decision and  I respect it.  Let the (newly appointed technical bench) also try their luck. “In life you move on after things like this. I just want to focus on my life. People think coaching is easy but it is not,” Bobby Ogolla told KBC Sports.

Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has now taken over as the new head coach with his follow ex-international and former Harambee Stars captain Musa Otieno as his assistant.

The duo is now tasked with steadying the bumpy Police FC ship which a lot is expected from having had a busy January transfer window during which they roped in high caliber players in the likes of Elvis Rupia, Harun Shakava and Francis Kahata.

The duo’s first test is a date away to Pamzo’s former employers Gor Mahia on Sunday in what is baptism by fire for the Harambee Stars legends.

Pamzo was sacked as Gor Mahia assistant coach at the end of January together with head coach Mark Harrison and the entire technical bench following a string of poor results.
