Posta Rangers face an uphill task when they host high-flying Kakamega Homeboyz in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League at the Thika Stadium on Saturday.
Rangers are at home to high scoring league leaders in what is a tall order for new coach Salim Ali will be taking all the necessary precautions to build on their 1-0 win against debutants FC Talanta last weekend, which was his first since stepping in for Stanley Okumbi.
“They are currently having a good run in the league but we also have to fight to be among the top teams. Our last win gave us a huge morale boost and we have now to build on it to post positive results. It will be a tough and entertaining game,” Salim Ali said.
Rangers and Homeboyz have clashed 15 times, of which Homeboyz have won three, Rangers winning four while eight have ended in draws but Abana Beingo are unbeaten in their last five meetings with the mailmen which is a bone that Ali has to chew.
New Posta Rangers coach Salim Ali, who picked his first win against Talanta last weekend, will have to be cautious in his approach to stop Homeboyz who have not lost to the mailmen in the last five meetings between the two sides.
Kakamega Homeboz who have only lost once this season, 1-0 against FC Talanta, lead standings with 40 points from 19 games while Posta Rangers are seventh with 29 points.
