Mieno and Oruchum feel recent form has given Tusker players much-needed confidence

Tusker midfielder Humphrey Mieno and defender Christopher Oruchum feel their recent impressive form has given the defending FKF Premier League champions the much-needed confidence as the season the continues.

The brewers, who are currently third on the log with 33 points, seven behind league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz, have gone seven matches without losing.

And both Mieno and Oruchum are eager to stretch their unbeaten run to eight as they prepare to host Kenya Police at Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday.

“We have to take a step at a time and look to get good results every match. We aim to be at the top and we need to give 100pc in every match as it comes,” said Mieno.

“The results over the last few matches have been a huge lift for the team taking into consideration how we started the season and how results were for us. It has been a massive boost to our morale and it gives us confidence to move stronger,” said Oruchum.

Reflecting on last weekend’s 2-0 win over Sofapaka, Mieno said: “It was a very tough match because Sofapaka is always a tough nut to crack but we put in some massive team effort. It was a huge three points for us and the push we need for the next match. We want to do better every game.”

After turning around their season’s fortunes, Oruchum says the are now taking each game at a time.

“We decided as a team that every match was a final for us. We now have 16 finals remaining and tomorrow we have another massive final against Kenya Police,” he said.

“We respect them as a strong team but we don’t fear them. We will look more into what we can do as a team and not on how they play or what they can do.”
