Erick Ombija calls for Nairobi City Stars consistency

Nairobi City Stars forward Erick Ombija has called on his teammates to develop some consistency, if they want to challenge for the FKF Premier League title this season.

Simba wa Nairobi have had an impressive season so far and are currently second on the table standings with 32 points, five behind league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz.

Though Ombija’s performance has been slowed down by injuries, he has scored two goals and provided a couple of assists for Nicholas Muyoti’s men this campaign so far.

Despite recording nine wins, five draws and four losses, Ombija feels the Kawangware-based outfit has what it takes to achieve their target.

“So far so good, we have had a good run. Now we need to be more consistent for the team to achieve our objective for the season,” said Ombija.

Ombija featured in the first four games of the season before he was sidelined with an injury.

He was back after seven round of fixtures and featured against Talanta and Tusker as well as the two-legged match against Kakamega Homeboyz but returned to the treatment room after suffering an ankle injury.

However, after missing the last two games against Kariobangi Sharks and Nzoia United, Ombija says he is fit and ready for their next fixture against Mathare United on Saturday.

“I am now in good shape and looking forward to more games,” said Ombija.
