Maupay nets a wonder-goal to earn Brighton a richly-deserved point away at West Ham. Souček makes the net bulge for the home side!
A spectacular overhead kick by Neal Maupay cancelled out Tomáš Souček’s early strike, as Brighton & Hove Albion came back to draw 1-1 at West Ham United, in Wednesday’s English Premier League (EPL) showdown.
Hammers’ Czech Republic midfielder, Souček, scored in the fifth minute. The 26-year-old guided a clever glancing header from Pablo Fornals’ corner past Brighton keeper, Robert Sánchez, to give the home side the advantage.

Brighton were forced into making two changes before half-time, as Adam Webster and Jeremy Sarmiento both sustained knocks and had to be replaced by Shane Duffy and Solly March.
Jakub Moder should have made the scores level after he was set up by Maupay just before the break. However, the Polish midfielder fired his effort into the legs of compatriot and Hammers goalkeeper, Łukasz Fabiański.
The team from the south coast began the second half with two more good chances falling for March and Lewis Dunk, before their London opponents had a goal ruled out for offside.
With the home side often successful on the counter, Sánchez produced a pair of superb saves to keep his side in it. One full-length diving effort to foil Declan Rice, in particular, brought roars of approval from the travelling fans.
Then, one minute from time, Brighton’s French forward, Maupay, threw himself into the air to acrobatically fire home Tariq Lamptey’s cross from the right!
